Expressions Dance Academy

Anna has been an instructor at Expressions Dance Academy since 2016 and is now a Co-Owner of the studio. She specializes in tap and contemporary and is passionate about creating a positive, encouraging environment for dancers of all ages.
She continued her dance education at Aquinas College as a member of the collegiate dance team, where she received multiple Individual All-American Dancer awards and helped lead her team to a 3rd Place National finish in 2019.
Professionally, Miss Anna has performed in productions and exhibitions throughout the Grand Rapids arts community in 2026, including work with The Big Room, Silva, and Interact:
Performing Arts Exhibition at All Art Works Viewing Studio.
She will also be featured in Enigmatic Performance Society's Summer 2026 video project, Liberated.
In 2024, Miss Anna completed the iTap Teacher Level 1
Certification Program under the direction of Hillary-Marie, continuing to expand her training and knowledge as both an educator and performer.

​Brenna Brookelyn is a professional dancer, choreographer, dance studio owner, show producer, company director, and theatre co director from Grand Rapids, Michigan, whose performance career spans from community stages to national showcases such as the Reconstruct Exhibition in Los Angeles, CA. She has experience training at over a dozen studios nation wide including T Milly Studios in Los Angeles, and Visceral in Chicago. In her early 20s, Brenna toured with EnerGy National Dance Competitions for several seasons, where she connected with and learned from acclaimed teachers and performers across the United States from Broadway performers, to VMA backup dancers. In the Midwest, Brenna has been seen performing at Festival of Arts, West Michigan Dance Festival, Fieldworks Dance Festival, and The World of Winter Festival, The Big Room, Silva, Lakeshore Festival of the Arts, Smiling Acres Music Festival, Interact: Performing Arts Showcase, and most recently as a featured dancer in the Integrity Granite Commercial for Celebration Cinema.

So far, in 2026 alone, Brenna produced, co directed, and/or performed in The Community First Performing Arts Showcase, The Silva Spoon Variety Show, Chicago Teen Edition at Grandville High School, and Interact: Performing Arts Exhibition with many more shows in the line up for the rest of this year.

Brenna is entering her second season with Dance PlayHouse as an Artistic Fellow, second season as the Director and Co Founder of Aspire by EDA, and her first season as the creator and director of Enigmatic Performance Society.

Brenna specializes in Heels, Jazz, and Hip Hop, with a love and drive for contemporary and modern. With 20 choreography awards under her belt, she is excited to share her passion for performance with the West Michigan community and to make the Grand Rapids area a safe place for performers and art consumers.

Jennifer Clark has been dancing since the young age of 4. She received training at local dance studios where she danced competitively and had the opportunity to travel to Chicago, New York City & Disney World. She was also on her local high school dance team and started teaching when she was 17. Jennifer has experience in various dance styles but has a passion for teaching Jazz. She has been teaching dance for going on 27 years. Jennifer is Co-Founder of Expressions Dance Academy in which she proudly Co-Owned for 19 years alongside Kelly Rich. She is a dedicated Early Childhood Educator and loves working with children. Jennifer serves as the Lead Infant Teacher at Explore & Grow Christian Learning Center. Jennifer holds a Child Development  Associate Credential (CDA) with an infant/toddler endorsement from Grand Rapids Community  College. She is passionate about supporting early learning and cultural enrichment for all children. Jennifer also loves to give back to the community. She is the President of Tanner’s SPRK On The World, a nonprofit that she runs in memory of her son Tanner. This charity raises funds to deliver different Acts of Kindness in the community. Tanner’s SPRK is proud to sponsor The Annual Tanner James Rogers Memorial Dance Scholarship. This is awarded each year to 2 dancers here at EDA. Jennifer believes that dance isn’t just a hobby but a way to connect with others and build a lifelong community.

Miss Kelly is a graduate of Grand Valley State University with a Bachelors of Spanish.  She has been teaching dance since 2002.  She began teaching recreational as well as competition classes at other local studios, before starting EDA with Miss Jennifer in 2007.  Miss Kelly has been a part of performance and competition teams in the past, performing at local events and competitions as well as Disney World in Florida.  She is currently one of the teachers of the competition team.  Her award winning choreography shows off her dancer's talent and her own love for dance.  Her favorite style of dance is Musical Theatre and Theatre Jazz.  Miss Kelly studies and is certified to teach Cecchetti Ballet, and some of her favorite classes to teach include the Adult Classes at EDA like the Adult competition team and Adult Ballet.  Recently she has trained out in Los Angeles at the Millenium Dance Complex.  She believes you are never too old, too ungraceful, or too busy to dance!  While she doesn't have any children she has three amazing felines, Spider, Ninja, and Patch. 

Miss Jillian received her dance training from local dance studio throughout her life.  She competed on East Kentwood High School's JV and Varsity Dance Teams and was a member of the Dance Unlimited Traveling Performance team, where she performed in Disney World.  She has trained and competed in several large cities including New York City, Chicago, Las Vegas, San Antonia, and Florida.  Miss Jillian graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education and Special Education.  She is a Special Education Teacher at Excel Charter Academy and is also a licensed cosmetologist. Miss Jillian has much teaching and choreography experience, and her platinum award winning choreography has received many additional outstanding awards including overall high scores, judges awards, choreography awards, titles and scholarship awards.  Miss Jillian's passion and love for teaching and choreographing dance is evident in all of her work.

Miss Erin started dancing at the age of three and never looked back! She has been with Expressions since it opened and was so excited to join the teaching staff in 2011 while completing her degree in Clinical Exercise Science. One of Miss Erin’s favorite parts of teaching is watching students learn, grow and accomplish their goals, no matter how big or small! She is also very passionate about the skills the students are learning outside of just dance tricks, such as working as a team, building mental resilience and being kind and supportive members of the dance community! Her students know how strongly she feels about the sportsmanship awards 😉. She is also still an active member of the team as a performer, hoping to set the example for younger dancers that dance is for everyone and you’re never too old to chase your dreams!

Through her long career as a dancer Miss Erin has had the opportunity to perform in many different spaces, including many years at Festival of the Arts, LaughFest, Grand Rapids Rampage, Griffins and Gold games, Dance the World at Walt Disney World, Interact Performing Arts Exhibition and SILVA.

Miss Laura has been dancing since she was 12 years old and has loved every minute of it! She enjoys many styles of dance, including ballet, lyrical, jazz, contemporary, and pom. Her passion for dance continued throughout college, where she took a variety of dance classes to grow as both a dancer and a choreographer. She was also honored to receive an award for one of her choreographed routines. She has been teaching dance for over 10 years and continues to take classes because she loves learning new skills, exploring new choreography, and growing as both a dancer and an instructor.

When she's not at the dance studio, she's an elementary school teacher. Teaching dance inspired her to become a teacher, and she loves helping students learn, grow, and gain confidence both in the classroom and in the studio. Her goal is to create a fun, positive, and encouraging environment where every dancer feels supported, challenged, and excited to learn. She can’t wait to share her love of dance with each of her students!

Miss Morgan has been dancing since the age of 4 and has always loved it. Growing up she loved doing the different styles of dance, especially the ballet, lyrical and contemporary ones. While in college she started a dance team at her old elementary school and took them to some local competitions. While in college she started working at Explore and Grow Center as a school age teacher, then switched over to preschool and has been teaching 3 year old preschool for the 13 years. She loves watching the little dancers learn and make connections when they get a step and remember the dance.
